So a long time ago, I promised pictures. I still don't have any of the house - it's hard sending them individually with a phone camera - but I do have the garden, and given that's where I spend 90% of my time when I can anyway...
So the garden was a mess when I got it.
This was what Bed 1 looked like before:

But I worked on it and finally got it cleaned up:

Did my planting and watering, and this is what it looks like now:

From left to right, I have: cucumbers, bell peppers, tomatoes, spearmint, grapes, violets, and green onions. In the front, there's some strawberries, more tomatoes, and a rose plant.
The other bed was also a mess:

So I cleaned it up and got some patio furniture:

And, of course, I planted a pallet garden.
On the first week, it looked like this:

A couple weeks go by...

And today it looks like this:

First row, starting from the top left: Bee balm, peppermint, petunias, sweet mint.
Second row: Marjoram, oregano, basil.
Third row: Calibrachoa, lemon thyme, petunia.
Fourth row: German thyme, parsley, sage.
On the top, not visible yet, is English ivy, lavender, and rosemary.
And because this is me, I had to have more flowers, so I added a few hanging baskets:

and planted some roses in my front yard:

And that's it! You now know what I've been doing the past few weeks. Hope it was worth it!
