Another grammatical announcement:

If you think the phrase is, 'you've got another thing coming', then you've got another think coming.

That's right, boys and girls, the expression is rightly rendered as "you've got another think coming", not thing. If you ruminate on this for a bit, you'll understand why.

I've seen this mistake waaaay too much lately.

Okay, people, I'm only going to say this once:

It's "Hear, hear", not "here, here".

For those of you who are actually interested, it's an abbreviated form of, "Hear him, hear him", as in, "Listen up, y'all."

You may now go back to your regularly scheduled lives.



See also: It's "bated breath", as in a-bated breath (i.e. you're so excited, you're holding your breath). Baited breath presumably would be used if you just had worms for lunch and were hovering over a pond, waiting for a fish to jump in your mouth. Otherwise, no.
