"You Got Sole", from Just the Shoe of Us
Aug. 21st, 2007 10:32 amThe ultimate "cure my boredom"--well, besides Bag, Shag and Gag--is a music post.
So! Random songs I've been into lately (read: I cleaned my music folders and found a bunch of songs that I never knew I had). I know most of your tastes pretty well, so if you don't feel like downloading them all, comment and I'll tell you which ones I think you'd like best.
Foreign Languages: French
Fleur de Saison by Emilie Simon
Irish Punk
Green Fields of France by Dropkick Murphys
Share the Darkness by Saw Doctors
Pop*
America by Bree Sharp
Sari by Nellie McKay
Hit the Ground Running by Smog
I Think God Can Explain by Splender
Someday, Someday by Thirsty Merc
One Horse Town by Thrills
Your Woman by White Town
Rock
Here Comes Your Man by The Pixies
Salva Mea by Faithless
Nemo by Nightwish
Eighties
Fields of Gold by Sting
Classical
Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin
Tocatta and Fugue in D-Minor by Bach**
Harpsicord Concerto by Bach
March of the Trolls by Grieg
Der Hölle Rache or The Queen of the Night Aria by Mozart
Swing, Jazz and Blues
Back Water Blues by Bessie Smith
Everything by Michael Buble
Papa Loves Mambo by Dean Martin
Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby by Renee Olstead
Autumn Leaves by Miles Davis and John Coltrane
And a surprise.
*Point of interest, I listen to very obscure music, so anything that sounds vaguely modern is lumped into "pop". This includes rap, punk, alternative, and any number of other genres that a music taxonomist would deign to differentiate between.
** This piece will be very familiar to most people, and is the creepiest classical piece of music that exists, rivaled only by Chopin's Nocturnes in C Minor. Organs are not happy instruments.
ETA: Dig my new layout! I really love it. For now. :))
